Tuesday AcupunctureThe intent of acupuncture therapy is to promote health and alleviate pain and suffering. The method by which this is accomplished, though it may seem strange and mysterious to many, has been time tested over thousands of years and continues to be validated today. The perspective from which an acupuncturist views health and sickness hinges on concepts of "vital energy," "energetic balance" and "energetic imbalance." Just as the Western medical doctor monitors the blood flowing through blood vessels and the messages traveling via the nervous system, the acupuncturist assesses the flow and distribution of this "vital energy" within its pathways, known as "meridians and channels". The acupuncturist is able to influence health and sickness by stimulating certain areas along these "meridians". Traditionally these areas or "acupoints" were stimulated by fine, slender needles. Today, many additional forms of stimulation are incorporated, including herbs, electricity, magnets and lasers. Still, the aim remains the same - adjust the "vital energy" so the proper amount reaches the proper place at the proper time. This helps your body heal itself. This is a Naturo. & Chinese Medicine program. Clients may access 4 Naturo. & Chinese Medicine appointments per month, max 1/week. ☓ |

Thursday HypnotherapyHypnosis is a state of focused concentration during which a person becomes less aware of his or her surroundings. Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to treat physical or psychological conditions. Hypnotherapy is a recognized medical treatment in Canada. During a hypnotic state, or trance, people may be more likely to accept suggestions that can help change their behaviour. A therapist (hypnotherapist) can lead the hypnosis, or he or she can teach people to hypnotize themselves (self-hypnosis). You can also learn self-hypnosis from books. The hypnotherapist's goal is not to control a person or give the person answers but rather to help the person solve his or her own problems. It is stressful for everyone to figure out changing limits. When we feel stressed, our symptoms get worse. It can become an endless cycle. Stress lives in our bodies. The neck tightens, the stomach churns, the jaw clenches. Telling ourselves to ‘let it go’ often doesn’t relax the muscle tension, calm the queasy stomach or stop our teeth from grinding. And it certainly doesn’t settle our anxiety. This is a Body and Energy Therapies Program. Please feel free to book no more than 1 Body and Energy Therapy per week and 3 per month.

Reiki
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting of two words Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy), an energy which animates us all and is found all around us. Reiki is a form of spiritual healing using "universal life energy" channeled through the practitioner to the recipient. Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit for yourself or anyone you want to help. You relax, fully clothed, on a couch or seated while the healer holds his hands on or above you. A treatment can last 45 minutes or longer depending on the treatment required. In the western world many practitioners use the standard hand positions and commonly a full treatment is given covering all the important organs of the body. There is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions, sometimes hands are even held away from the body. Acupuncture
The intent of acupuncture therapy is to promote health and alleviate pain and suffering. ☓ Indian Head MassageIndian Head Massage (20 mins) is an ancient Ayurvedic medicine technique that helps to create balance and harmony by treating the shoulders, arms, back to mid-thoracic area, neck, scalp, face and ears. The treatment is especially helpful for neck and shoulder pain as well as chronic headaches, migraines and TMJ syndrome. However, it is equally effective as a generally relaxing treatment. The client remains fully clothed and comfortably seated in a chair. This is a Massage Therapies program. Clients may access 3 Massage Therapies per month, max 1/week. ☓ |
EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique EFT - Emotional Freedom TechniqueLarisse helps clients identify and release core issues that allow them to manage daily stress, clear traumas from their past, treat fear and anxiety about the future, and address ongoing symptoms. During an EFT session, clients gently tap on a series of acupuncture points with their fingertips while focusing on the problem, pain or emotion that they want to clear. This releases “emotional blockages” from the mind and body that hinder the ability to thrive and heal emotionally, physically and spiritually. Larisse also helps clients reframe and gain new perspectives around old experiences through visualization and hynotherapeutic techniques, allowing them to set and manifest positive intentions as well as experience peace and optimism. This is an Individual Support & Counselling program. Clients may access up to one Individual & Counselling program per week and four per month

'The Work'
The Work (45 mins) by Byron Katie is a simple yet profoundly powerful process of self-inquiry. By learning to identify our own stressful thoughts and limiting beliefs, and questioning them with 4 questions and turnarounds, we are able to find the clarity and space for peace, joy, and clear course of action. Anyone with and open and honest mind can do it. For thousands of years we’ve been told not to judge, but we still do it all the time—how our friends should act, whom our children should care about, what our parents should feel, do, or say. In The Work, rather than suppress these judgments, we use them as starting points for self-realization. By letting the judging mind have its life on paper, we discover through the mirror of those around us what we haven’t yet realized about ourselves. This is an Individual Support & Counselling program. Clients may access 4 Individual Support & Counselling appointments per month, max 1/week. ☓ Healing Life Through EnergyHEALING LIFE THRU ENERGY (+ Reiki) Your 75 min. session will consist of a Healing Touch technique designed to balance the 7 major, and countless minor Chakras of the body. Depending on your individual needs, Scott may intuitively offer the use of healing crystals or alternative techniques. There is light-touch involved in this session. You will relax, fully clothed, on a massage table for its duration. Soft music will usually accompany your session. **Anyone un-comfortable with touch can request a Reiki session instead. HEALING TOUCH…is a biofield therapy that is an energy-based approach to health and healing. It uses touch to influence the human energy system, specifically the energy field that surrounds the body (Aura), and the energy centers (Chakras) that control the energy flow from the energy field to the physical body. These non-invasive techniques utilize the hands to clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields thus affecting physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health and healing. It is based on a heart-centered caring relationship in which the practitioner and client come together energetically to facilitate the client’s health and healing. The goal in Healing Touch is to restore harmony and balance within the energy system, placing the client in a position to self-heal. REIKI …two Japanese words Rei & Ki meaning “spiritually guided life energy” (commonly referred to as Universal Life Energy). Reiki is a form of spiritual healing using “Universal life energy” channeled through an attuned practitioner to the recipient. Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind, and spirit. During your session you’ll relax, fully clothed, on a massage table while the facilitator holds his/her hands on or above you. A treatment consists of traditional hand placements designed to balance the body’s Chakras and will last approx. 1 hour. Reiki involves no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating ALL ages, health conditions, and those who may be uncomfortable with physical contact. Reiki energy flows where it’s most required within an individual’s system (facilitator has no influence) and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling throughout the body. Receiving Reiki is a very gentle, relaxing, soothing, and non-invasive experience. This is a Body & Energy Therapy program. Clients may access 3 Body & Energy Therapies per month, max 1/week. ☓ |

Acupuncture
The intent of acupuncture therapy is to promote health and alleviate pain and suffering. Dinner with Friends
Dinner With Friends is our longest running program and, since 1995, has provided a place for people to gather around the table, eat a delicious meal, and socialize. Teams of dedicated volunteers prepare a formal three-course meal every 2nd and 4th Sunday evening. You won't want to miss this opportunity for good food and great friends so book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Clients are permitted one dinner per month, and you need to arrive by 5:30 to ensure seating. Vegetarians and those with simple food allergies can be accommodated provided that the information is provided ahead of time. Please call our Program Coordinator at extension 2 before noon on the Thursday preceding the dinner so that we can prepare a special meal for you. Bon appetite! You can book a "Dinner with Friends" under the classes tab in Mind Body. ☓ |

Acupuncture
The intent of acupuncture therapy is to promote health and alleviate pain and suffering. ☓ Cooking ClassThis is a hands-on participatory program, so be prepared to get your hands dirty. You will get to sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labour, and everyone will help with the clean-up. Space is limited so register early! This is a Nutrition Program. Clients may access 10 Nutrition programs per month, max 3/week, max 1/day. ☓ Energy HealingChristie started her path as an energy healer under the tutelage of Pat McCullagh in 2007.
