Friends For Life has
responsibly utilized contributions to
operate Canada's leading comprehensive
drop-in wellness centre.
Through a planned gift, you can help
ensure that the important work of
Friends For Life continues.
The easiest way of securing your
charitable wishes is by making a
Will and including a bequest. There
are many other ways of making
planned gifts including Life
Insurance Policies and Gifts of
Annuities and Endowments. Some
options save you taxes
immediately.
To explore these possibilities,
please contact us. We will arrange
for a Planned Giving expert to meet
with you to confidentially discuss
your specific wishes.

Bequests
You can
choose to name The Vancouver Friends
For Life Society in your Will. Such
a gift (or bequest) helps ensure
that we will continue to provide the
life-affirming support that so many
people rely upon.
Even if you've already drawn up your
Will, it's not too late to think of
Friends For Life. For Wills already
in existence, a codicil (an
amendment to the Will) can be added
to make your wishes known. You will
find that bequests are eligible for
tax credits and can considerably
reduce the amount of taxes paid on
an estate after death.
Leaving gifts to Friends For Life in
your Will is an easy way to make a
long-term commitment without
affecting your current standard of
living. You ensure that your
commitment to improve the quality of
life for those living with
life-threatening illness will
continue beyond your lifetime.
Gifts of Life
Insurance
Life
Insurance Policies increase the
financial security of your loved
ones. The same principle applies to
The Vancouver Friends For Life
Society. Your gift of life insurance
would help us continue to deliver
our many programs and services.
Giving a donation to Friends For Life
through the gift of a Life Insurance
Policy is discreet and
straightforward. For manageable
yearly premiums, you are able to
make a substantial gift to Friends
For Life. Because it is separate
from your estate, it does not affect
any inheritance you wish to leave
your heirs.
There are two ways to give to Friends
For Life via a Life Insurance
Policy. One way is for you to sign
over an existing policy when it is
no longer needed for its original
purpose. The other method is for you
to purchase a new policy, naming
Friends For Life as sole owner and
beneficiary.
Gifts of Charitable
Annuities
There are
many different methods of setting
aside a portion of your assets to
benefit both you and The Vancouver
Friends For Life Society during your
lifetime. A gift annuity allows a
donor to receive regular payments
for life, with tax benefits, while
at the same time benefiting Friends
For Life. This method of planned
giving can be individually designed
to suit your needs as a donor.
Endowments
An
Endowment gives a donor the
opportunity to give a gift that will
continue to provide revenues into
the future. An Endowment is a
contribution where the principal is
held in perpetuity and the income or
interest from the principal is used
for the purposes as outlined in an
Endowment Agreement. The purposes
for which the interest may be spent
can be very general in nature or
restricted to a specific area.
Endowments do not allow the trustees
to draw from the principal, unless
outlined in the agreement.
